About
Grace OPC : Pastor
Scott Johnson
Hello and
welcome to our website! I hope to have the opportunity to meet you
sometime at Grace
Presbyterian. In the meantime, here is a little information
about me:
My family
I met my wife Robyn while we were both serving as Missionary Associates
with the OPC in Sendai, Japan, and we got married in 2000. Since
then, the Lord has blessed us with three children: Meredith (2001),
Maggie (2003), and Sander (2005).
My home
I moved around so much growing up that it's hard to say exactly where
I'm from, but my family roots are in Montana. In the fall of 2003,
our family moved to Norman after I accepted a call from Grace Presbyterian
to serve as her pastor. We have enjoyed living in Norman and are
glad to call it our home!
My calling
I grew up in a non-church-going home and it wasn't until my early twenties
that I came to understand the message of God's grace in the Gospel.
Under the preaching of the Word, I was converted to Christ and
have desired to serve him ever since. The Lord gradually placed
it upon my heart to pursue the gospel ministry. I began seminary
studies at Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia, PA)
in 1999 and graduated in 2003. On November 7th of the same year,
I was ordained to the ministry by the Orthodox Presbyterian Church
and installed as Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church.
My church
We are excited about the work the Lord is doing in our midst. Grace
is a church made up of people who want to worship the Lord, desire
to know his truth through the Scriptures, and actively seek to
edify one another and make the Gospel known to others. I think
you'll find Grace to be a warm and friendly environment where Christ
is exalted and where his people, out of love for Christ and the
Gospel, seek to serve one another and the community.
Please call
me if you would
like to find out more about Grace Presbyterian. I'd like to have
you visit and worship with us sometime.
The Lord's blessings on
you,
Pastor Scott Johnson
